MaxDR™ Fusion Parameters Now in McElroy DataLogger® for Assured Joint Integrity

By James | News, MaxDR | 0 comment | 22 April, 2025 | 0

Composite Piping Technology (CPT) is excited to announce that fusion parameters for MaxDR™, the world’s first large diameter high pressure composite poly pipe (HDPE), are now implemented in the McElroy DataLogger® Fusion Joint Data Collection & Analysis platform.

The DataLogger platform records crucial fusion data to verify that each joint was fused with the correct pressure and duration supporting standards by recording key parameters of the fusion process. Crews can now select the correct MaxDR pipe type, and the appropriate fusion parameters are auto-loaded in the DataLogger database, speeding up installation and reducing manual keystroking.

“Having MaxDR fusion parameters integrated into the McElroy DataLogger platform helps further validate the pipe’s potential and makes it easier for customers to adopt,” said B.G. Clark, President of Composite Piping Technology. “Importantly, buyers of our pipe can be assured that MaxDR joints are fused with integrity, ensuring the highest level of reliability in their pipeline projects.”

MaxDR™ – The Strength of Composite with the Easy of Poly™

MaxDR composite poly pipe from Composite Piping Technology (CPT) is the world’s first large diameter, high-pressure, fusible composite HDPE pipe, offering significant advantages in performance and value over current HDPE, fiberglass and steel pipe in a wide range of applications.

Our patented design and manufacturing process uses a cohesive fiberglass wrap with a protective HDPE protective cover to produce a thinner pipe maximizing the dimensional ratio (DR) while safely handling higher pressures.

  • Lower capital costs due to 50%+ reduction in material while delivering 2x to 3x higher pressure ratings over standard HDPE.
  • Reduced installation time versus comparable ID and pressure rated pipe while utilizing the same fusing equipment and similar procedures as traditional HDPE pipe.
  • Decreased carbon intensity rating through reduced material/ transportation and shortened fusing time.
  • Available in 12” to 24” diameters.
  • Safely works with operating pressures of 350, 550 and 750 psi.
  • Manufactured and tested to ASTM standards applicable to traditional HDPE 4710 and FRP/GRE pipe.
  • Embedded RFID tags support better traceability.
