High-Pressure Composite HDPE Pipe for Carbon Capture, EOR and Energy Transition

MaxDR® is a durable, higher-pressure, fusible composite pipe built for CO₂ Service and the Energy Transition

MaxDR, utilizing HDPE as its core pipe withstands the corrosive nature of wet CO2 while providing higher-pressure (350 – 750 psi) capabilities than conventional HDPE pipe, while using less material. Engineered to handle CO₂ transport, particularly streams saturated with water that can form corrosive carbonic acid, MaxDR delivers unmatched durability, chemical resistance, and long-term reliability in critical applications.

MaxDR takes HDPE to where only fiberglass and steel have gone before, due to its higher operating pressure.

Why MaxDR Pipe for Carbon Capture & Energy Transition

MaxDR is lighter and easier to handle, less expensive to transport, and dramatically faster to connect than fiberglass and steel, helping you efficiently and safely transport corrosive CO₂, reduce maintenance, and achieve a lower total cost of ownership.

Benefits of MaxDR High Pressure Composite HDPE Pipe for EOR and CCUS Projects

Corrosion-Resistant Construction

Unlike traditional steel pipelines, MaxDR’s composite HDPE construction resists carbonic acid and corrosive CO₂ streams, providing decades of safe, leak-free service.

High-Pressure Capability

MaxDR is designed for elevated pressures, making it ideal for CO₂ gathering, injection, and process applications in sequestration or enhanced oil recovery (EOR) projects.

Fusible, Leak-Free Joints

Heat-fused joints create a monolithic, leak-proof pipeline system – critical when transporting CO₂ over long distances or in remote locations where maintenance access is limited. Additionally, MaxDR fusion parameters now in McElroy DataLogger® for assured joint integrity

Durable & Rugged Construction

MaxDR withstands harsh terrain, temperature variations, and operational stress, ensuring reliable performance in challenging field conditions.

Lightweight & Easy to Install

Compared to steel, MaxDR’s lightweight construction simplifies transport, handling, and installation, even in remote or difficult-to-access locations.

CO₂ Gathering

MaxDR provides safe, high-pressure transport of CO₂ from capture sites to pipelines or processing facilities.

CO₂ Processing & Conversion

Durable for chemical processing, utilization, or conversion of CO₂ streams.

Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR)

Reliable CO₂ injection lines designed to resist corrosion and maintain integrity in harsh field conditions.
